a,= 12 43 <br />The Board next considered a Proposal for Architectural <br />Services for the Building. The Board discussed at length the <br />advantages and disadvantages of moving the Manager, Finance and <br />Economic Development Departments from the Wilrik Building to the <br />Government Center and the best disposition of the Wilrik <br />Building. Commissioner Dossenbach moved to authorize the County <br />Manager to contract with Mullins Sherman Architects to prepare a <br />schematic design and cost estimate for the first floor of the <br />Lee County Government Center at a rate of $50.00 an hour not to <br />exceed 20 hours. Commissioner Stafford seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Board next considered the bids received for surplus <br />property (former Health Center Property): <br />BIDDER <br />PROPERTY <br />BID <br />Mr. Lloyd Lyons <br />Mr. Joe Lewis Rice <br />405 & 407 Evergreen <br />407 Evergreen <br />For both $22,555.00 <br />$5,000.00 <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved for adoption of the following <br />Resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee <br />desires to dispose of certain surplus property of the County. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of <br />Commissioners of the County of Lee that: <br />1. The following described property is hereby declared to <br />be surplus to the needs of the County: <br />BEING all of Lot No. 103 and Lot No. 104 as shown and <br />depicted on plat entitled "Map Showing the Alcott Property <br />of the Wilkins Supply Company, compiled from an actual <br />survey made in May, June and July, 1951, by Claude C. <br />McBryde, which map is of record in Map Book 4, at page 41, <br />Lee County Registry, and to which map reference is hereby <br />made for a more perfect description. <br />2. The Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee has <br />received an offer to purchase for the sum of $22,500.00 the <br />property described above. <br />3. The Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee <br />proposes to accept the offer unless an upset bid shall be made. <br />4. The person making the offer shall deposit with the <br />Clerk to the Board of Commissioners of Lee County a sum equal to <br />five percent (5%) of his offer. <br />8 <br />
