C. Division of Land Resources Erosion
Control Requirements. Request additional funds to update the airport layout
plan. Mr. Ogburn reported that last year the Airport commission
had received $7,500 from the City of Sanford and Lee County to
be used as matching funds for a N. C. Aviation Grant request of
$15,000.00. The total project cost of $30,000.00 was to be used
to conduct an alternative study concerning relocation of the
airport versus improvements at the existing site. The N. C.
Aviation elected not to fund the request until possibly FY 1992.
The airport has completed all work envisioned in its master Plan
and Airport Layout Plan, therefore, the Airport Layout Plan is
at a standstill until an update of the Airport Layout Plan is
completed. They have received an estimate of $45,000.00 to
complete the updating of the Airport Layout Plan. Of this
amount the local share is $22,500.00. They propose to convert
the alternative study money above of $15,000.00 to be used for
the first part of the $22,500.00 and this would leave a
requirement for an additional $3,750.00 each from the City and
County.
Commissioner Dossenbach moved to approve an additional
appropriation of $3,7500.00 to be added to the $7,500.00
previously allocated subject to the Airport commission receiving
matching funds from the State.
