9d~K Nay: None 1 1 PAGE 57® <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />The Board voted unanimously for the appointment of <br />Mr. C. S. Bristow as the replacement for Mr. Al Fowler on the <br />Mid-Carolina Regional Development Authority. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to change the Public Hearing <br />that is schedule for June 4th on the Budget from 9:30 A.M. to <br />7:00 P.M. so more people would be able to attend. Commissioner <br />Stafford seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker. <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />The Board then discussed estimates for sun screening on the <br />Lee County Art Center windows. After discussion, the Board <br />agreed to make a decision on the sun screening after they <br />receive a recommendation from the Recreation Department. <br />The Board agreed to cancel the March 19, 1990 Regular <br />Meeting because of the 1990 NACo Legislative Conference which is <br />being held March 17 to March 20 in Washington, D.C. <br />The Board next considered a recommendation from the Water <br />Committee to authorize the County manager to sign an agreement <br />for Consultant Services. Mr. Joyce explained this will provide <br />consulting services to assist in preparation of a Small Cities <br />Community Development Block Grant - Economic Development <br />Application. If the application is funded Lee County will be <br />billed $3,500 for consulting services. If the Application is <br />not funded there will be no compensation for services. <br />Commissioner Stafford moved to authorize the County Manager to <br />sign the contract with Skip Green and Associates. Commissioner <br />Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />The Chairman recognized Mr. Leonard Barefoot, County <br />Planner. Mr. Barefoot explained that the Planning Board has <br />received road petitions from residents living adjacent to <br />Cricket Hearth, Villanow Drive, Harrington Place and Twin Bridge <br />Circle requesting that they be 'added to the state system for <br />maintenance. The Planning Board recommends that the petitions <br />be forwarded to the Aberdeen Office of Division of Highways with <br />a favorable recommendation for the four streets to be added to <br />their system for maintenance. Commissioner Cox moved to accept <br />3 <br />
