DOUR' 1:3 FV 56 C) <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously and the <br />public hearing closed. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved that the Board of Commissioners <br />proceed to hold a public hearing on the County's application for <br />a Community Development Block Grant. Commissioner Cox seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously and the <br />public hearing was open. Mr. Joyce was recognized and reported <br />that a public hearing was required as part of the procedure of <br />submitting an application for a Community Development Block <br />Grant to extend the water line on Highway 78 to Pearson Textile. <br />Pearson Textile is planning an expansion of their plant and this <br />expansion will create approximately 8 new jobs. After the Board <br />had heard all persons who requested to be heard, Commissioner <br />Matthews moved that the Public Hearing be closed. Commissioner <br />Cox seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker <br />Cox: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously and the <br />public hearing closed. <br />Commissioner Cox reported that the Kiwanis Club of Sanford <br />is making preparations to develop about one acre of recently <br />purchased land into additional parking at Kiwanis Park. The <br />Parks and Recreation Committee and Kiwanis Committee have met <br />with the Public Works Director who advised them that his <br />equipment could be available for grading and clearing the lot <br />Tuesday or Wednesday morning. Commissioner Cox moved to <br />authorize the County Manager to instruct the Public Works <br />Director to proceed with the clearing and grading of this <br />lot. Commissioner Stafford seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker. <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />The Board considered the minutes for the February 19th <br />meeting. Commissioner Stafford moved that the draft of the <br />minutes be adopted as the official minutes for said meeting and <br />that they be recorded.
