Bd64"~ NkSE 55 <br />MI14 iES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, March 5, 1990 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 A.M. <br />on Monday, March 5, 1990, in the Commissioners' room on the <br />J second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, <br />Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were: Commissioners <br />Albert L. Cox, John R. Dossenbach, Jr. Bertha L. Matthews, <br />William C. Stafford, Jr. and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman <br />Wicker declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the <br />transaction of business. <br />Chairman Gordon A. Wicker presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Commissioner Matthews. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved that the Board of Commissioners <br />proceed to hold a public hearing on the close out of the <br />Community Development Block Grant portion of the Golden Poultry <br />Project. Commissioner Stafford seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker. <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted <br />and the public hearing was open. The Chairman recognized Mr. <br />Bob Joyce, Economic Development Director. Mr. Joyce advised <br />that part of the procedure for closing out the Community <br />Development Block Grant is to have a public hearing concerning <br />administration of the funds. This project was a $750,0000.00 <br />Grant from the Community Development Block grant Program through <br />the Department of Commerce in Raleigh for the purpose of funding <br />the construction of the water tank on Valley Road near the <br />Golden Poultry Facility. The construction is completed and the <br />tank is operational. Of the $750,000.00 received, approximately <br />$30,0000 was used for administrative costs, $102,0000 on <br />engineering and inspection and about $617,0000.000 on <br />construction. After all persons desiring to speak had been <br />given an opportunity to do so, Commissioner Matthews moved that <br />the public hearing be closed. Commissioner Dossenbach seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker. <br />1 <br />
