13 77 <br />Aye: Cox, Do enbach, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker. <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />The Board next considered bank proposals for Central Depository. <br />The Finance Officer advised that every three years proposals are <br />requested for banking service. Proposals were received from BB&T, <br />First Citizens, Mid-South, Southern National and Summit. First <br />Citizens is the low proposal by several hundred dollars annually. <br />Mrs. Fields recommended the low bid of First Citizens. Commissioner <br />Stafford moved to approve and begin usage July 1 with First Citizens <br />Bank. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion and upon a vote the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker. <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />The Board next considered bids for surplus property. Mr. Joyce <br />advised an upset bid of $27,000 had been received on the two houses <br />on Evergreen Street that were part of the Health Department. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved for adoption of the following <br />Resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee desires <br />to dispose of certain surplus property of the County. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of <br />the County of Lee that: <br />1. The following described property is hereby declared to be <br />surplus to the needs of the County: <br />BEING all of Lot No. 103 and Lot No. 104 as shown and <br />depicted on plat entitled "Map Showing the Alcott Property of <br />the Wilkins Supply Company, compiled from an actual survey <br />made in May, June and July, 1951, by Claude C. McBryde, which <br />map is of record in Map Book 4, at page 41, Lee County <br />Registry, and to which map reference is hereby made for a <br />more perfect description. <br />2. The Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee has <br />received an offer to purchase for the sum of $27,000.00 the <br />property described above. <br />3. The Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee proposes <br />to accept the offer unless an upset bid shall be made. <br />4. The person making the offer shall deposit with the Clerk <br />to the Board of Commissioners of Lee County a sum equal to five <br />percent (5%) of his offer. <br />5.
