131w-104 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />Monday, May 7, 1990 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 A.M. <br />on Monday, May 7, 1990, in the Commissioners' room on the <br />second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, <br />Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were: Commissioners <br />Albert L. Cox, Bertha L. Matthews, William C. Stafford, Jr. <br />and Gordon A. Wicker. Absent: Commissioner John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr. Chairman Wicker declared a quorum present and <br />the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />V <br />Chairman Gordon A. Wicker presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by County Manager, William K. <br />Cowan. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved that the Board of Commissioners <br />proceed to hold a public hearing on the CDBG Community <br />Revitalization Grant. Commissioner Stafford seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted <br />and the public hearing was open. The Chairman recognized Mr. <br />Bob Joyce, Economic Development Director, who introduced Mr. <br />Skip Greene. Mr. Greene reviewed the application at length and <br />then answered questions from members of the Board of <br />Commissioners. After all persons desiring to speak had been <br />given an opportunity to do so, Commissioner Matthews moved that <br />the public hearing be closed. Commissioner Cox seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted <br />and the public hearing closed. <br />The Chairman called for the pleasure of the Board with <br />respect to the application for the community development block <br />grant.
