Sign Regulations Applicable to Residential Districts. <br />In addition to the general regulations in Section 3 of this article, the <br />following limitations shall apply in all residential districts. <br />(a) Only principal use identification signs shall be permitted. They may be <br />ground or wall signs, provided that no wall sign project more than <br />twelve (12) inches from the wall on which it is mounted. <br />(b) Unless specifically permitted in Section 4, signs permitted in all dis- <br />tricts shall be artificially illuminated and no sign in said districts shall <br />contain any moving parts except as may be permitted as a part of a Spe- <br />cial Use Permit obtained for a specified special use. <br />(c) The following are <br />specifically <br />prohibited except <br />nonconforming signs made <br />of paper, cloth, <br />or other n <br />ondurable material <br />which shall be removed <br />within six (6) mo <br />nths of the <br />effective date of th <br />is ordinance. <br />1. Advertising signs <br />2. Roof signs, marquee signs, projecting signs, suspended signs, <br />signs (temporary or permanent) with flashing lights <br />(d) The height of any sign shall not project vertically above an imaginary <br />line extending from a point six (6) feet above the center line of the <br />street to the highest point of the principal building. <br />(e) Permitted signs in residential districts shall be subject to the following <br />restrictions as to number and size. <br />1. Churches, community recreation <br />centers, golf courses, country <br />clubs, parks, police and fire <br />stations, and similar permitted <br />uses <br />One (1) per each street front <br />plus one (1) per each building <br />on premises not to exceed <br />twenty-five (25) square feet <br />2. Office of a doctor, dentist, One (1) per lot not to exceed <br />architect, lawyer, and similar five (5) square feet <br />permitted offices (in the resi- <br />dence of the practitioner) <br />Section 6. Sign Regulations Applicable to Commercial and Industrial Districts. <br />The height of any ground sign shall not exceed thirty-five (35) feet. <br />Principal use signs are permitted as follows. <br />(a) Ground Signs: Not more than one (1) ground sign shall be permitted <br />per principal use. No ground sign shall exceed one hundred (100) <br />square feet in area. No ground sign shall be located less than ten (10) <br />feet from any public right-of-way. <br />(b) Projecting Signs, Suspended Signs: Suspended signs shall not exceed <br />twelve (12) square feet in area per side.
