0 B 001 13 -r,sF 169 <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved to approve the hiring of an <br />engineer to complete a preliminary engineering report for Farmers <br />Home Administration for a fee of $1500 to be paid from the Water <br />Fund. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion and upon a vote the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />The County Manager advised that if and when a loan is secured, <br />Farmers Home will reimburse that cost. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved for approval of the water <br />extension to Doe Run Subdivision as recommended by the Water <br />Committee. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion. There was <br />considerable discussion on the extension of the water line. After <br />discussion, Commissioner Stafford asked Commissioner Dossenbach if he <br />would amend his motion to extend the line back to the corner of lots <br />three and four. Commissioner Dossenbach declined advising that the <br />Water Committee recommended the extension to the far property line. <br />Upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach <br />Nay: Matthews, Stafford and Wicker <br />The Chairman ruled the motion did not carry by a 2 to 3 vote. <br />Commissioner Stafford moved that the developer be allowed to <br />extend the water line to Doe Run Subdivision to the end of the <br />current ownership of this property at its northern most point on Deep <br />River Road, which is the end of Lot 4. Commissioner Matthews <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Matthews, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: Cox, Dossenbach <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried by a 3 to 2 vote. <br />The Board next considered a draft of a joint Resolution with <br />the Lee County Board of Education and the City of Sanford <br />concerning an Option to Purchase the Wilrik Building to the <br />Historic Preservation Foundation of North Carolina. Mr. K. R. <br />Hoyle, County Attorney advised that he had reviewed the Joint <br />Resolution. He reported that it also has to be adopted by the <br />Board of Education and the City of Sanford. The Board discussed <br />at length the terms of the option. After discussion, <br />commissioner Cox moved for adoption of the following <br />Resolution: <br />5 <br />
