0 s~ R 13 r~sr 178®
July 1 they plan to begin using Geographic Inf3rmation System
(GIS) for the building inspections permit program. Their
current procedure requires set-up contractors and electricians
to obtain the required permits. In addition to being
cumbersome, oftentimes the person obtaining the permit knows
very little about the location of the proposed unit. That
knowledge is essential to make the system operate efficiently.
Commissioner Stafford moved to approve the issuance of a single
permit for mobile homes. Commissioner Matthews seconded the
motion and upon a vote the results were as follows:
Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker
Nay: None
The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously.
The Chairman advised Mr. Barefoot that the Board would
consider the Inspection Fee Schedule after they receive a
recommendation from the Finance Committee.
The Board next considered a recommendation from the Tax
Administrator for proposed charges for copies in the Land
Records Department. The County Manager advised that based on
the requests for printouts, maps and other types of information
from Mr. Crissman's office; his staff came up with a charge that
is representative of the cost of supplying that information.
The Board discussed the charges with Mr. Crissman. After
discussion, Mr. Crissman was asked to compare these charges to
other counties and come back with a recommendation to the Board
at the next meeting.
The Board next considered Budget Amendment #06/14/90/23.
The Finance Officer reviewed the budget amendment. Copy of the
Budget Amendment is attached to these minutes and by this
reference made a part hereof. After Mrs. Fields had completed
her review and explanation, Commissioner Stafford moved that
the Budget Amendment be approved. Commissioner Matthews
seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as
follows:
Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker
Nay: None
The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously.
The County Manager reported that he had received a letter
from Mr. Bradley Barker, Executive Director of Triangle J
Council of Governments which outlines the Cost to Administer the
Lee County Aging Program. The letter states basically that
it will cost TJCOG $45,831 to administer Aging Planning,
Regional Ombudsman, and Older Adult Employment Program for Lee
County. Federal and State funds in the amount of $29,637 will
be available, leaving a balance of local funds needed from Lee
County equal to $16,158. If Lee County wishes to contract with
TJCOG for Emergency Medical Services, the cost will be $4,834 to
14
