eooK 13 305 <br />MA ES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />*********,t*,t,t,t,t,t**,t,t,t,t,t****t**tt****,t,t**,t******t************ <br />Monday, August 6, 1990 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 A.M. <br />on Monday, August 6, 1990, in the Commissioners' room on the <br />second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, <br />Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were: Commissioners <br />Albert L. Cox, John R. Dossenbach, Jr. Bertha L. Matthews, <br />William C. Stafford, Jr. and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman <br />Wicker declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the <br />transaction of business. <br />Chairman Gordon A. Wicker presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Commissioner Cox. <br />The Clerk of the Board of Commissioners reported to the <br />Board of Commissioners that the bond order entitled, "Bond Order <br />Authorizing the Issuance of $650,000 School Bonds of the County <br />of Lee", which had been introduced on June 25, 1990, had been <br />published on July 30, 1990, with notice that the Board of <br />Commissioners would hold a public hearing thereon on August 6, <br />1990, at 9:30 o'clock, A.M. The Clerk of the Board of <br />Commissioners also reported that the County's Finance officer <br />had filed in the Clerk's office a statement of debt complying <br />with the provisions of The Local Government Bond Act, and such <br />statement as filed showed the net indebtedness of the County to <br />be 1.72960 of the appraised valuation of property in said County <br />subject to taxation. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved that the Board of Commissioners <br />proceed to hold a public hearing on the school bond order and <br />the advisability of issuing the school bonds. The motion was <br />seconded by Commissioner Cox and was unanimously adopted. At <br />the direction of the Chairman, the Clerk of the Board of <br />Commissioners read the bond order and the published notice of <br />hearing. <br />After the Board of Commissioners had heard all persons who <br />requested to be heard in connection with the foregoing <br />questions, Commissioner Cox moved that the public hearing be <br />closed. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Matthews and <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Stafford moved that the Board of Commissioners <br />adopt the bond order, as introduced, and direct the Clerk of the <br />1 <br />
