r•{ 4 <br />nay 13 pa, O.. <br />WHEREAS, no upset bid was received during the time allowed <br />by law and as set out in said Public Notice; and <br />WHEREAS, said purchaser is ready, willing and able to <br />complete said sale. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of <br />Commissioners of the County of Lee that upon the payment of the <br />sum of $3,200.00 the purchase price, by Ms. Barbara C. Taylor, <br />the Chairman and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to <br />execute a deed to Mrs. Taylor or her designee for the following <br />described property: <br />BEGINNING at a point, said point being the Southwest corner <br />of a 7.08 acre tract belonging to Iva Hackney, recorded in Deed <br />Book 43, Page 425, at the Lee County Register of Deeds Office; <br />thence from said point South 400' to the Northwest corner of a <br />1.46 acre tract belonging to Josephine Ward; thence with said <br />Ward's Northern line East 300' to a point in the Western <br />right-of-way of US 1; thence with said Western right-of-way <br />Northeast 500' to a point in said right-of-way, said point also <br />being the Southeast corner of a tract belonging to Curtis Brown <br />recorded in Deed Book 33, Page 127 at the Lee County Register of <br />Deeds Office; thence as the Brown Southern line and beyond West <br />640' to the point of BEGINNING. BEING A 4.40 acre tract shown <br />on Lee County Tax Map 54-9667-87-7334. <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion and upon a vote the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />The Board next considered a subcontract for services to the <br />Job Training Partnership Act. The County Manager advised that <br />this is a contract that is in place on an annual basis. It is <br />Federal Job Training Partnership Act money which is used to <br />train home care workers, 10 to 15% which are elderly. The <br />Community College trains these workers and it is federally <br />funded. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved that the contract be <br />approved. Commissioner Stafford seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />The Board next considered an appointment to the <br />Mid-Carolina Private Industry Council. Commissioner Cox <br />nominated Mr. Harold Harrington to serve on the Mid-Carolina <br />9 <br />
