}a <br />Nay: None BOOR r?;G ~it3d <br />Mr. Nathan Crissman, Tax Administrator, appeared before the <br />Board and requested authority to docket judgments for unpaid <br />1989 real estate taxes in accordance with a list presented to <br />the Board. Commissioner Cox moved that the Tax Administrator be <br />authorized and empowered to docket judgments for all 1989 unpaid <br />real estate taxes. Commissioner wicker seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, Wicker and Cox <br />Nay: None <br />The Vice Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Joyce reported that we have received notification from <br />the Federal Aviation Administration that they have approved an <br />amendment to the Grant Agreement concerning the extension <br />project and erosion control plan at the Sanford/Lee County <br />Airport. This amendment increases maximum obligation by $19,297 <br />for cost overruns. Commissioner Dossenbach advised that the <br />Airport Commission voted unanimously to recommend acceptance of <br />this Amendment. Commissioner Stafford moved that the amendment <br />be approved (Copy of the Amendment is attached to these Minutes <br />and by this reference made a part hereof.) <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion and upon a vote the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />Commissioner Cox thanked the County Manager for getting <br />together all of the Fire Department Minutes and requested that <br />all the Minutes be typed. <br />The County Manager advised that he received, in today's <br />mail, a letter from CSX Real Property concerning the property <br />that is currently being used by the Department for the Aging and <br />the Chamber Office. They have had the property appraised and <br />consider that it is worth $125,000 and are giving us 15 days to <br />advise them as to whether we would be interested in purchasing <br />this property. The Board discussed the matter at length. After <br />discussion, the County Manager was authorized to write CSX and <br />advise that we are not interested in the purchase of this <br />property for $125,000. <br />The County Manager reported that Mr. Crissman had written a <br />letter to Mr. Hall explaining the solid waste and recycling <br />policy as requested by the Board at the last meeting. <br />Mr. Cowan also reported on a letter written to Mr. Ed <br />Dunlap of the NC School Board Association from Mr. Donny L. <br />Hunter, Superintendent, Lee County Schools nominating the Lee <br />County Board of Commissioners for consideration of the "North <br />6 <br />
