HOOK D Pr G` JOJ <br />Chief Ronnie Campbell of the Northview Fire Department advised <br />that ARS has stated that they will provide the needed equipment. <br />Mr. Billy Ray Cameron, Director Emergency Management Service advised <br />that he will draw up a written agreement just as they have with some <br />other corporations that they deal with. Anything that cost above <br />the regular tax base, which is the service they are supposed to <br />furnish, will be charged and that is made plain at the outset. <br />Mr. George McRae, member of the Environmental Affairs Board <br />asked to have that Board's recommendations put in writing. The Vice <br />Chairman advised the Commissioners could require this to be made a <br />condition of approval. <br />Mrs. Billie Elmore of Rolling Hill Road expressed concern about <br />mosquitos at the site. Mr. Godwin advised that current State Permit <br />requirements require that any exposed tires for a period of longer <br />than ten days have to be covered. Their present program involves <br />covering the tires with a polyester plastic tarp. They are working <br />with the State to try to get approval for a spray program. Mrs. <br />Elmore advised she would object to a spraying operation. She asked <br />when security personnel would be on the site. Mr. Godwin advised <br />that they anticipate a two shift operation and when there are no <br />operating personnel on the site they will have security personnel. <br />Commissioner Cox asked if this operation had been cleared by <br />the Health Board. Mr. Godwin advised that they have not contacted <br />the Health Board in Lee County at this point. They have talked with <br />the State Health Board and will contact the local Health Board. <br />Commissioner Stafford advised there is a Health Board meeting <br />Wednesday night. <br />There being no <br />Chairman Dossenbach <br />a request to rezone <br />Highway Commercial <br />on the western side <br />Township. <br />further discussion on this request, Vice <br />opened the floor for discussion on Item No. 3 <br />from Residential Agricultural District to <br />)istrict approximately five acres of land located <br />of Farrell Road (S.R. 1423) in Deep River <br />Mr. Barefoot advised that the Ammons property is adjacent to a <br />commercial operation, Central Carolina Scales Company, which is <br />owned by Wayne Lamberth. Central Carolina Scales has operated at <br />this location for several years. CCS was not zoned Highway <br />Commercial District initially, but it is his feeling that it should <br />have been. <br />Mrs. Katie Ammons, petitioner, asked that the Board rezone <br />this property in order for them to build a shop or something of that <br />nature on it. <br />After the Board of Commissioners had heard all persons who <br />requested to be heard on the rezoning, Commissioner Cox moved <br />that the Public Hearing be closed. The motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Stafford and was unanimously adopted. <br />The Vice Chairman dismissed the Planning Board and advised they <br />4 <br />
