2006 - <br />LEE COUNTY <br />©(D 0U C1 GOD q3Q b <br />.: Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION <br />ADOPTING THE <br />2006 LEE COUNTY STATE LEGISLATIVE AGENDA <br />WHEREAS, Lee County desires to have a more effective voice in the General Assembly; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners supports and desires to supplement the <br />work of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners appointed a Legislative Liaison <br />Committee that is responsible for advocating the legislative needs of the County to State and <br />Federal representatives; and <br />WHEREAS, the Committee has proposed a legislative agenda that provides position statements <br />on certain matters deemed to have impact on local government revenue, authority and <br />operations; and <br />WHEREAS, it is important that the Board of Commissioners formally state its position on such <br />• matters in order to provide the Legislative Liaison sufficient direction in their work advocating for <br />the County of Lee; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lee County Board of Commissioners supports <br />and endorses the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners 2005 -2006 Legislative <br />Goals; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Lee County Board of Commissioners adopts the <br />attached position statements and directs the Legislative Liaison Committee to vigorously <br />advocate for Lee County on said matters during the 2005 -2006 General Assembly session. <br />Adopted this 1 day of May 2006. <br />= Herbert A.
