0 LsHo D ?t,CF 36-G <br />extinguish tire fires involving a minimum of 70,000 tires. <br />Billy Ray Cameron, Emergency Services Director for Lee County, <br />will assist in drafting the agreement which should meet his <br />approval and that of the Lee County Attorney. <br />8. ARS will provide and maintain adequate fencing to <br />prevent vandalism and/or illegal entry onto the property. <br />Commissioner Stafford moved to sustain the recommendation <br />of the Planning Board. Commissioner Matthews seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />The third petition was a request to rezone approximately 3 <br />1/2 acres of the Ammons property located on the western side of <br />Farrell Road, and approximately 1 1/2 acres of the adjacent <br />Wayne Lamberth property from Residential-Agricultural District <br />to Highway commercial District. The Planning Board unanimously <br />recommended that the requests be approved. Commissioner <br />Matthews moved for approval of the rezoning requests. <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion and upon a vote the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />The Board next considered an appointment as County <br />Assessor. The County Manager advised that Mr. Nathan Crissman, <br />Tax Administrator has completed all the requirements for <br />certification as County Assessor in North Carolina. Mr. Cowan <br />added that Mr. Crissman finished this course in about nine <br />months and it can take up to two years. Mr. Crissman also did <br />very well on the test. Commissioner Cox moved to appoint Mr. <br />Crissman as County Assessor for a term ending July 1, 1991. <br />Commissioner Stafford seconded the motion and upon a vote the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />The Chairman recognized Mr. Nathan Crissman, Tax <br />Administrator. Mr. Crissman presented the tax releases and <br />refunds for the month of August, 1990. Commissioner Cox moved <br />that the releases and refunds enumerated in the Tax <br />Administrator's report for the month of August be authorized <br />and approved. A copy of the report is attached to these minutes <br />and by this reference made a part hereof. Commissioner Matthews <br />4 <br />
