0 k00z 13 Ptr~ 333 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, October 1, 1990 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 A.M. <br />on Monday, October 1, 1990, in the Commissioners' room on the <br />second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, <br />j Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were: Commissioners <br />v Albert L. Cox, Bertha L. Matthews, William C. Stafford, Jr. <br />and Gordon A. Wicker. Absent: Commissioner John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr. Chairman Wicker declared a quorum present and <br />the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman Gordon A. Wicker presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Commissioner Matthews. <br />The draft of the minutes for the regular meeting held on <br />September 17, 1990 were reviewed and corrected. After the <br />minutes had been corrected, Commissioner Stafford moved that the <br />draft of the minutes be adopted as the official minutes for said <br />meeting and that they be recorded. Commissioner Matthews <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker. <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Donald, McLaughlin, Director Parks and Recreation was <br />recognized and presented the follows Matching Grants Policy <br />Proposal: <br />1. Any Lee County public or private agency, civic group or <br />individual, church'<or other not-for-profit organization is <br />eligible to request funds from the Matching Grants Fund of the <br />Lee County Parks and Recreation Commission. <br />2. Requests may be filed with the LCPR Dept. at anytime <br />funds are available. To qualify for the initial consideration <br />of matching grants recipients, a matching grant request should <br />be received by the Director of the LCPR Dept. by July 31. A <br />preliminary determination to award any and all requests (up to <br />the extent of depleting budgeted funds) may be made by the LCPR <br />Commission no later than its regular meeting in August. Final <br />approval for awarding the funds shall be given by the Board of <br />1 <br />
