oc; 13 F~,s_ 402 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, October 15, 1990 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:00 P.M. on <br />Monday, October 15, 1990, in the Commissioners, room on the <br />second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, <br />Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were: Commissioners <br />Albert L. Cox, John R. Dossenbach, Jr., Bertha L. Matthews, <br />William C. Stafford, Jr. and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman <br />Wicker declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the <br />transaction of business. <br />Chairman Gordon A. Wicker presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by County Attorney, K. R. Hoyle. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved that the Board proceed to hold <br />a public hearing on a request to rezone from Residential <br />Agricultural District to Highway Commercial Conditional Use District <br />14.45 acres of land on the eastern side of U.S. Highway 1 North, <br />bordered by that highway, Deep River Road, and the Deep River. <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion and upon a vote the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted and <br />the public hearing was open. <br />The Chairman asked the members of the Planning Board to come <br />forward and advised the audience that they would answer any <br />questions. The Chairman opened the floor to all persons who wanted <br />to speak on the request. s <br />Mrs. Judith Nance, petitioner, thanked the Commissioners and <br />the Planning Board for hearing the petition again, this time to <br />rezone from Residential Agricultural to Highway Commercial <br />Conditional Use. The purpose of this request is for a restaurant. <br />The request for a campground has been withdrawn. <br />After the Board of Commissioners had heard all persons who <br />requested to be heard on the request. Commissioner Cox moved that <br />the public hearing be closed. The motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Matthews and carried unanimously. <br />1 <br />
