0 Bn 13 prsr 4.:8 <br />recess, the Board reconvened with all members present, except <br />Commissioner Matthews. <br />County Manager Cowan recommended appointment of Myra <br />Johnson as Clerk to the Board of Commissioners, concurrent <br />with her position as Administrative Assistant to the County <br />Manager. Commissioner Stafford moved to approve the <br />recommendation. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Cowan stated that quotes for a new copier have been <br />obtained. A Canon copier from Macs Business Machines and a <br />Xerox copier from Xerox have been demonstrated to the County. <br />A Konika Royal, from Sanford Business Machines, was an <br />option, but the dealer could not provide a machine for a <br />trial period. After a brief discussion, a motion was made by <br />Commissioner Dossenbach to accept the low bid on the Canon <br />copier. Commissioner Stafford seconded the motion, and upon <br />a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />The County Manager stated that the November 19, 1990, <br />meeting needs to be rescheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. due to <br />the Farm-City Banquet to which the Commissioners have been <br />invited. It was the general concensus of the Board to change <br />the meeting time from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach informed the Board that in <br />regard to a gift deed to the West Sanford Township Fire <br />Department in 1969, the terms indicated that in the event <br />that the old fire station use was discontinued, this property <br />would revert back to the Burns family. Attorney Hoyle stated <br />that this matter should be settled between the Burns family <br />and the department. <br />Attorney Hoyle stated that Mr. Tommy Black approached <br />him about notifying the Historical Society about declaring <br />the Jonesboro Library a historical site. Commissioner Wicker <br />stated that he has heard rumors that the Jonesboro Library <br />operation may be decreased to two or three days a week. Mr. <br />Cowan stated that he has not heard this. The Board advised <br />Mr. Cowan to check with the Library Director regarding this. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach stated that all the Board <br />members are not always informed about what occurs in the <br />various Advisory Board and Committee meetings and they need <br />11 <br />
