BOOK D FACE 418 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF.LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, November 5, 1990 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for <br />the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 <br />A.M. on Monday, November 5, 1990, in the Commissioners' Room <br />on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker <br />Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were: <br />Commissioners Albert L. Cox, John R. Dossenbach, Jr., William <br />C. Stafford, Jr., and Gordon A. Wicker; absent: Commissioner <br />Bertha L. Matthews. Chairman Wicker declared a quorum <br />present and the meeting open for the transaction of <br />business. <br />Chairman Gordon A. Wicker presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Commissioner Wicker. <br />The Board considered the draft of the minutes from the <br />regular meeting held on October 15, 1990, and the adjourned <br />regular meeting held on October 19, 1990. Commissioner <br />Dossenbach moved that the draft of the minutes be adopted as <br />the official minutes for said meetings and that they be <br />recorded. Commissioner Stafford seconded the motion, and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />Chairman Wicker recognized Mr. John Hall, representing <br />the Lee County Agricultural Extension Service. Mr. Hall <br />requested that the Board consider declaring the week of <br />November 16 - 22, 1990, to be Farm-City Week in Lee <br />County in conjunction with the City of Sanford. Mr. Tom <br />Joyner outlined the activities planned in the area in <br />observance of Farm-City Week. Commissioner Stafford moved to <br />adopt a proclamation declaring November 16 - 22, 1990, to be <br />Farm-City Week in Lee County and the City of Sanford. A copy <br />of the proclamation is attached to these minutes, and by this <br />reference, made a part thereof. Commissioner Cox seconded <br />the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Stafford, and Wicker <br />1 <br />
