MI 2EES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, November 19, 1990 <br />******************~***t~~~~t,tz~~~ttt~,tax********************** <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:30 P.M. on <br />Monday, November 19, 1990, in the Commissioners' Room on the <br />second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, <br />Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were: Commissioners <br />Albert L. Cox, John R. Dossenbach, Jr., Bertha L. Matthews, <br />William C. Stafford, Jr. and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman <br />Wicker declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the <br />transaction of business. <br />Chairman Gordon A. Wicker presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Commissioner Dossenbach. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved that the Board proceed to hold a <br />public hearing on the following requests: <br />1. Petition by Joy Wilkins Gilmore for the Wilkins Corporation <br />to change the zoning classification of 394.60 acres of land located <br />west of Hawkins Avenue and south of the Norfolk and Southern <br />Railroad, and being the same property located at the end of <br />Clarendon Drive (unopened) from Residential Agricultural district to <br />Light Industrial District. <br />2. Petition by Thomas E. Barrett to change the zoning <br />classification of 15.41 acres of land located on the northern side <br />of Amos Bridges Road beginning at its intersection with Little <br />Buffalo Creek from Residential Agricultural District to Light <br />Industrial District. <br />3. Petition by Gerald Womble for Womble and Womble Investments <br />to change the zoning classification of 4.52 acres of land located on <br />the eastern side of Cumnock Road and Cotton Road from Residential <br />Restricted District to Residential Agricultural Conditional Use <br />District. The petitioner proposes to locate a single-wide <br />manufactured home on the property. <br />4. Petition by Robert Castleberry to change the zoning <br />classification of 12.09 acres of land located on the southwest side <br />of Castleberry Road beginning at a point approximately 1550 feet <br />west of Lemon Springs Road from Residential Agricultural District to <br />Highway Commercial Conditional Use District. The petitioner <br />proposes to expand an existing automobile repair shop and to locate <br />an automobile sales dealership on the property. <br />1 <br />
