2007 - �J <br />LEE COUNTY <br />©oaQ© (3 n o io aoo <br />• Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING INCREASE IN <br />LOCAL SALES TAX TO BE USED FOR LOCAL SCHOOL CAPITAL NEEDS <br />AND <br />CENTRAL CAROLINA COMMUNITY COLLEGE <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Education approved a Resolution <br />requesting an increase in the local sales tax for school capital needs at their <br />January 9, 2007 meeting; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners is aware of the inadequate <br />facility needs, overcrowding in the local school system, and needed repairs and <br />additions to the Central Carolina Community College; and <br />WHEREAS, Lee County currently has a local 2.50 percent sales tax on local <br />sales. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Lee County Board of Commissioners hereby endorses <br />an increase in the local sales tax from 2.50 percent to 3.50 percent to be used <br />• exclusively for capital needs for local school needs and Central Carolina <br />Community College. <br />AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />does hereby request that our local legislative delegation in the North Carolina <br />General Assembly endorse this resolution. <br />Adopted this 22 day of January 2007. <br />A Rob & ertH -� 86own �2 --- Chairman <br />Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />ATTEST: <br />Gayne M.
