SOD" o~~c ~1J7 <br />their personal property for 1990, and that next year, the Tax <br />Collector be granted the full authority to collect this tax and <br />to collect the penalty if these vehicles are not listed in the <br />correct manner. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Wicker declared that the place of meeting be moved <br />to the Superior Courtroom at the Lee County Courthouse for the <br />purpose of allowing the newly elected commissioners to take <br />their oath of office and to induct the other newly elected <br />County officials into office. At the Courthouse, The Honorable <br />William A. Christian, Chief District Judge, Eleventh Judicial <br />District, administered the oath of office to Clerk of Court <br />Lucille York. Mrs. York then administered the oath of office to <br />Commissioners Bobby R. Hall, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. <br />Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and Gordon A. Wicker, Sheriff Billy <br />A. Bryant, and Thomas W. Poe, Jr., Soil and Water Conservation <br />Supervisor. <br />Following the oath taking ceremony, a reception was held in <br />the foyer of the Courthouse. <br />At 11:22 o'clock A.M., the Board reconvened in the <br />Commissioners' Room with all Commissioners in attendance. The <br />Chairman stated that the first order of business with the new <br />Board was the election of a Chairman and a Vice-chairman. <br />Commissioner Cox moved that the election of these two officers <br />be conducted by a voice vote. Commissioner Hall seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />Chairman Wicker ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />Commissioner Cox moved that Commissioner Stafford be <br />elected as Chairman. Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />Commissioner Stafford, having been elected Chairman by a <br />unanimous vote, assumed the chair and presided over the further <br />deliberations of the Board. <br />The invocation was given by Attorney K.
