FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH_CAROLINA <br />J <br />Monday, December 3, 1990 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 <br />o'clock A.M. on Monday, December 3, 1990, in the <br />Commissioners' room on the second floor of the County Office <br />Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those <br />present were: Commissioners Albert L. Cox, John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr., Bertha L. Matthews, William C. Stafford, Jr. <br />and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman Wicker declared a quorum <br />present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman Wicker expressed his appreciation to the Board <br />for their cooperation during the past year that he has served <br />as Chairman. Commissioner Dossenbach extended his thanks to <br />the Board and to the County Staff for the reception and for the <br />years of service together. <br />Chairman Gordon A. Commissioner <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />Commissioner Matthews inquired about the recently adopted <br />fire department contracts including provisions for fire stations <br />deeded as a gift to a community when the use as a fire station <br />is discontinued. County Manager William Cowan stated that in <br />this type situation, the building would not be considered an <br />asset, since the Fire Department does not have a clear title to <br />the property. <br />Commissioner Cox inquired about the status of the tires <br />being removed by ARS Waste Management Tire Recycling, Inc. from <br />the C. P. Properties Brown Road tract. Commissioner,Stafford <br />reported that one truckload has been removed from the property. <br />The completion date for removing all tires from the premises is <br />1 <br />
