2007 - ,-1,j O LEE- OUNTY Cointnitted Today for a Better Tomorrow RESOLUTION AUTHORIZNG THE EXECUTION AND DELIVERY OF A LOCAL GOVERNMENT GRANT AGREEMENT AND A COMPANY PERFORMANCE AGREEMENT AND OTHER DOCUMENTS PERTAINING TO A ONE NC FUND GRANT FROM THE NC DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE CONCERNING THE CHALLENGE PRINTING COMPANY OF THE CAROLINAS PROJECT WHEREAS, Mr. Robert Heuts, Economic Development Director has negotiated a loan on behalf of the County from the North Carolina Department of Commerce to be used by The Challenge Printing Company of the Carolinas, Inc. towards the goal of creating twenty -five (25) new jobs and a $4.5 million investment in the County of Lee; and WHEREAS, there have been submitted to this meeting forms of the • following documents: (1) Local Government Grant Agreement, and (2) Company Performance Agreement, and WHEREAS, the Board desires and deems it expedient to secure said grant and use it for the purpose as stated; NOW, THEREFORE, BIT IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee as follows: Section 1. The Chairman, Vice- Chairman and Clerk to the Board are authorized and directed to make application for and accept the One NC Fund Grant in the amount of $50,000 for and on behalf of the County to be used for The Challenge Printing Company of the Carolinas. Inc. Section 2. The Local Government Grant Agreement in the form submitted to this meeting, is hereby approved and the Chairman or Vice - Chairman is hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver, and the Clerk to the Board is hereby authorized and directed to attest and acknowledge the Local Government Grant Agreement substantially in such form with such necessary and appropriate variations, omissions, and insertions as may be approved by the ® Chairman or Vice- Chairman.
