0 Loos 13 Stu 532 <br />These members asked if the county would allow them to use the <br />income on the rental of the equipment they currently have to <br />purchase the equipment that is now standing before the Finance <br />Committee. Commissioner Reives stated his concern of the <br />County's liability in that situation. Mr. Cowan stated that the <br />equipment which has already been purchased can be given to the <br />Soil and Water Conservation District, freeing the County of any <br />liabilities. <br />Chairman Stafford informed the Commissioners of a <br />tentatively scheduled meeting on January 21, 1991, with members <br />of the Airport Commission and some State legislative officials. <br />The Board next considered an appointment to fill a vacancy <br />on the Emergency Food and Crisis Support Board. Commissioner <br />Wicker nominated Mrs. Eloise Bizzarri. There being no other <br />nominations, Commissioner Wicker moved to close the nominations <br />and to accept the nominee by acclamation. Commissioner Matthews <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion carried unanimously. <br />Chairman Stafford informed the Board that the Mayors of <br />Broadway and Sanford were very receptive to the three governing <br />units meeting to discuss common interest issues. He and the two <br />mayors will be meeting to plan the agenda with the understanding <br />that each has equal access to the agenda. The joint meeting of <br />these boards will probably be held in February. <br />Chairman Stafford then asked each Commissioner if they had <br />any other business to come before the Board. <br />Commissioner Reives inquired about the feasibility of <br />changing the meeting time of the Board's first Monday of the <br />month meeting from 9:30 A.M. to 9:00 A.M. It was the general <br />concensus of the Board to continue the time as currently <br />scheduled. <br />Commissioner Paschal asked about the status of the removal <br />of scrap tires stockpiled in the Northwest Pocket area. County <br />Attorney Hoyle indicated that the individual stockpiling these <br />tires cannot be located. <br />Commissioner Cox commended Mrs. Pam Adams, Executive <br />Director of the Department for the Aging, for her smart response <br />to a sensitive issue regarding the Council of Governments and <br />for the 1991 goals for the department. <br />Commissioner Cox expressed his concern for the lack of <br />progress on the construction of the Community Resource Center. <br />Commissioner Cox stated that the Buildings, Grounds, and <br />Utilities Committee met concerning the Courthouse and Jail <br />7 <br />
