eno{ 13 <br />Street, Sanford, North Carolina. <br />Mr. Bob Joyce, Administrative Services Director, stated <br />that the Finance Committee reviewed the resolution and <br />recommended that the Board adopt this preliminary resolution. <br />Commissioner Cox asked what effect this public hearing will have <br />on similar areas throughout the County and the County's position <br />in accommodating these areas. Mr. Joyce stated that the County <br />has a Water Extension Policy, which allows for special <br />assessment districts to be initiated by petition. Commissioner <br />Matthews stated that a majority of the property owners have <br />signed the petition. Mr. Joyce stated that twenty parcels are <br />involved with eighteen property owners. Commissioner Paschal <br />asked if the County has the capacity to provide water anywhere <br />in the County. Mr. Joyce stated that currently, the County has <br />between 500,000 and 700,000 gallons per day in excess capacity, <br />which is enough to provide for approximately 1,000 households. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to adopt the preliminary assessment <br />resolution. Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The chairman ruled the motion adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Wicker, Chairman of the Finance Committee, <br />presented the results of the bid proposals for roll-off <br />container service for the convenience centers, which are as <br />follows: <br />Vendor <br />Carolina Waste Systems <br />P. 0. County Manager Cowan stated <br />that when all sites are operational, a long-term contract will <br />be considered. County Manager Cowan stated that Public Works <br />Director Bobby Johnson investigated the company and recommended <br />using their service.
