Chairman Stafford stated that any Commissioner has
access to any part of this process.
Commissioner Cox asked that the architect be contacted
about meeting with Commissioners Hall, Matthews, and Reives
and show them what has taken place up to this point. Chairman
Stafford directed the County Manager to arrange this meeting
before the next regular Board meeting. Commissioner Cox asked
if the Committee needs to wait. Commissioner Reives stated
that the vote was to proceed with the plan, but it is not
final. Commissioner Hall
stated that he thought that had already been established.
Chairman Stafford stated that the only issue ruled upon was
the request for additional plans. Commissioner Cox seconded
the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows:
Aye: Cox, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker
Nay: Hall and Matthews
vote.
The Chairman ruled the motion adopted by a five to two
Chairman Stafford asked the County Manager to inform him
when this meeting has been conducted.
Commissioner Wicker asked Commissioner Matthews if she
will attend the meeting. Commissioner Matthews stated that
she would attend the meeting. She stated that she should have
been contacted initially.
Chairman Stafford told Commissioner Hall that he might
meet a greater comfort level with the plan after meeting with
the architect.
Commissioner Cox asked Commissioner Matthews if she as a
Committee member can attend this meeting with the architect in
a positive manner. Commissioner Matthews stated that she will
listen to what is said. As part of the Committee, whether she
holds a positive or negative opinion, she has a right to be a
part of the meetings with employees' input and she expects to
be invited to all the meetings regarding this project.
16
