0 ~ n^ 13 o;S, 5e <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Tuesday, January 22, 1991 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:00 P.M. on <br />Tuesday, January 22, 1991, in the Commissioners' Room on the <br />second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, <br />Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were: Commissioners <br />Albert L. Cox, Bobby R. Hall, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. <br />Paschal, Robert T. Reives, William C. Stafford, Jr., and Gordon <br />A. Wicker. Chairman Stafford declared a-quorum present and the <br />meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman William C. Stafford, Jr. presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by County Attorney K. R. Hoyle. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved that the Board proceed to hold a <br />public hearing on the following request: <br />Amendments to the Zoning Ordinance for Lee County <br />A. Remove Drive-in Theatre as a separate category allowed in the <br />HC, LI, and HI Districts and list Drive-in Theatre as an example <br />of Amusements, out-of-doors, commercial (pages 18 and 24). <br />B. Delete Amusements, out-of-doors, commercial (e.g., shooting <br />ranges, fair grounds, race tracks excluding automobile race <br />tracks) as a permitted use in the CS District and change the <br />same to special uses in the HC, LI and HI Districts (pages 18 <br />and 42). <br />C. Add a note to the Table of Permitted Uses reading as follows: <br />"Temporary carnivals, rides, and ferris wheels shall require a <br />zoning permit from the zoning administrator. Such permits shall <br />be issued for a period not exceeding ten days in any calendar <br />year." <br />D. Make Restaurants a permitted use in the LI District (page 23). <br />E. Under Section 3, Article XIII, change the number "thirty (30) <br />days" to "sixty (60) days" (page 66). <br />Commissioner Wicker seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />1 <br />
