0 ["oo, 13 ;.a 594 <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion adopted unanimously. <br />The Board next considered proposed Budget Amendment <br />#02/04/91/12, a copy of which is attached to these minutes, and <br />by this reference, made a part hereof. Commissioner Matthews <br />moved to adopt the budget amendment. Commissioner Wicker <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion adopted unanimously. <br />County Manager Cowan stated that the Board needs to <br />consider the name of the Community Resource Building as it will <br />appear on the plaque placed on the building. He stated that <br />the Board also needs to consider the names of the Commissioners <br />that will be displayed on the plaque. Chairman Stafford stated <br />that Lee County Civic Center would be an appropriate name to be <br />placed on the plaque, even though the State will officially <br />recognize the building as the Community Resource Center. <br />Commissioner Reives stated that some people may confuse the <br />Community Resource Center with the Learning Resource Center. <br />Commissioner Cox suggested naming the building the Central <br />Carolina Civic Center, since it is so closely related to the <br />Central Carolina Community College. He stated that the name <br />would emulate a regionally used facility, in lieu of a facility <br />just to utilized by Lee County. Commissioner Paschal suggested <br />naming the building the Lee County Civic and Convention Center. <br />Commissioner Cox stated that two plaques should be placed on <br />the building--one displaying the names of the Central Carolina <br />Community College Board of Trustees and the other plaque <br />displaying the names of the Lee County Commissioners. <br />Commissioner Hall moved that the name to appear on the <br />Community Resource Center plaque read "Lee County Civic <br />Center". Commissioner Wicker seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: Cox <br />vote. <br />The Chairman ruled the motion adopted by a six to one <br />Commissioner Cox recommended that the names of all the <br />Commissioners involved with the project from the beginning to <br />the end be included on the plaque.
