13 607 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />of <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />Monday, February 18, 1991 <br />1V The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:00 <br />o'clock P.M. on Monday, February 18, 1991, in the <br />Commissioners' Room on the second floor of the County Office <br />Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those <br />present were: Commissioners Albert L. Cox, Bobby R. Hall, <br />Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, <br />William C. Stafford, Jr., and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman <br />declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the <br />transaction of business. <br />Chairman William C. Stafford, Jr., presided, and the <br />following business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Commissioner Paschal. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved that the Board proceed to hold <br />a public hearing on the proposed amendments to the Lee County <br />Zoning Ordinance. Commissioner Wicker seconded the motion, and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman declared the motion had been adopted <br />unanimously and the public hearing on the proposed amendments <br />open. Chairman Stafford recognized Mr. Leonard Barefoot, <br />County Planner, who explained the proposed amendment concerning <br />commercial and recreational sexually explicit entertainment <br />establishments. Following Mr. Barefoot's explanation, <br />interested persons were afforded the opportunity to speak <br />either for or against the proposed amendment. After all <br />persons desiring to be heard had been given an opportunity to <br />speak, Commissioner Wicker moved that the public hearing be <br />closed. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />1 <br />
