13 607 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING of THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA Monday, February 18, 1991 1V The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:00 o'clock P.M. on Monday, February 18, 1991, in the Commissioners' Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were: Commissioners Albert L. Cox, Bobby R. Hall, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, William C. Stafford, Jr., and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. Chairman William C. Stafford, Jr., presided, and the following business was transacted: The invocation was given by Commissioner Paschal. Commissioner Matthews moved that the Board proceed to hold a public hearing on the proposed amendments to the Lee County Zoning Ordinance. Commissioner Wicker seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker Nay: None The Chairman declared the motion had been adopted unanimously and the public hearing on the proposed amendments open. Chairman Stafford recognized Mr. Leonard Barefoot, County Planner, who explained the proposed amendment concerning commercial and recreational sexually explicit entertainment establishments. Following Mr. Barefoot's explanation, interested persons were afforded the opportunity to speak either for or against the proposed amendment. After all persons desiring to be heard had been given an opportunity to speak, Commissioner Wicker moved that the public hearing be closed. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker Nay: None 1
