To the office of the National Association of Counties <br />and North Carolina Association of County <br />Commissioners. <br />Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been adopted <br />unanimously. <br />County Manager Cowan presented a report submitted by <br />Finance Director Fields on current financial conditions for <br />Fiscal Year 1990-91, highlighting revenues and expenditures <br />that appear to be either over or under budget projections, of <br />which the Board briefly discussed. <br />County Manager Cowan reported that the Finance Committee <br />discussed the various options for dealing with the bond <br />anticipation notes associated with the Greenwood School <br />project. The Finance Committee directed the County Manager to <br />request the Board of Education to appropriate the funds to <br />retire the $650,000.00 bond note upon its maturity on May 15, <br />1991. The $465,000.00 note will be renewed for one year, and <br />the County will appropriate the funds in the 1991-92 budget to <br />retire this debt when it matures on May 15, 1992. <br />Chairman Stafford announced that a joint meeting of the <br />Lee County Board of Commissioners, the City of Sanford Board of <br />Aldermen, and the Town of Broadway Board of Commissioners will <br />be held on March 25, 1991, at the Sanford Municipal Center to <br />discuss common interest issues. The deadline for Commissioners <br />submitting input for the agenda of this meeting is March 15, <br />1991. <br />Chairman Stafford recognized County Attorney K. R. Hoyle, <br />who re-addressed the issue of the endorsement of a resolution <br />adopted by the City of Sanford requesting amendments to Article <br />1, Chapter 19 of the General Statutes of North Carolina <br />concerning abatement of nuisances, which was tabled for further <br />investigation and review by the County Attorney. He informed <br />the Board that after review of the resolution with city of <br />Sanford Attorney Jimmy Love, he agrees that the language of the <br />resolution is appropriate. Commissioner Hall moved to endorse <br />the resolution adopted by the City of Sanford Board of Aldermen <br />concerning the abatement of nuisances.
