9 E';00K 13 PaE 647 6 <br />financial burdens of disease and chronic illness; and <br />WHEREAS, concerned, informed and active citizens will <br />ensure a healthy future for Lee County; <br />THEREFORE, we proclaim April 15 - 19, 1991, as Public <br />Health Week in Lee County. <br />Commissioner Wicker seconded the motion, and upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the proclamation had been adopted <br />unanimously. <br />The draft of the minutes of the March 4, 1991, meeting was <br />considered. Commissioner Wicker moved that the draft of the <br />minutes be adopted as the official minutes for said meeting and <br />that they be recorded. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, <br />and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been adopted <br />unanimously. <br />The Chairman recognized Mr. Nathan Crissman, Tax <br />Administrator, who requested that the Board consider <br />endorsing proposed legislation to revise the system by which <br />local governments collect property taxes on motor vehicles. <br />The bill would institute a property tax collection system tied <br />to the vehicle registration cycle administered by the Division <br />of Motor Vehicles, thereby improving the method of collecting <br />property taxes on motor vehicles. <br />Commissioner Cox moved that the Board submit a letter of <br />endorsement of this proposed bill to the State legislators. <br />Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been adopted <br />unanimously. <br />Chairman Stafford stated that due to a decrease in the <br />State's budget, the North Carolina Land Records Management <br />Program (LRMP) will no longer operate within the Department of <br />3 <br />
