2008 - - 7c) <br />LEE COUN TY <br />- 'aj <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />RESOLUTION <br />IN MEMORY OF <br />MAX D. FOSTER <br />WHEREAS, Max D. Foster was a Lee County resident and a well known area <br />residential building contractor for over 50 years, who passed away on February 17, <br />2007, at the age of 78, and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Foster was well known for his leadership and active participation <br />of American Legion Post 382 for 54 years, and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Foster served as Post Commander for 12 terms, District 13 <br />Commander for four terms and Division Commander for one term; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Foster was named Legionnaire of the Year in 1969; and <br />• WHEREAS, Mr. Foster received numerous Legion honors, including being <br />named Vice Chairman of the Legion's Americanism Council in 1995. In 1969 and 1973, <br />he served on Foreign Relations at the national convention; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Foster was an honorable gentleman, served his family and <br />community well, and is greatly missed by his family and many friends. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners hereby honors the memory of Mr. Max D. Foster for a life of outstanding <br />service, contribution and leadership to his community. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of <br />the Lee County Board of Commissioners July 21, 2008 meeting as a permanent record <br />of the achievements of and respect for Mr. Max D. Foster, and Resolutions are <br />presented to the family of Mr. Foster and members of American Legion Post 382. <br />Adopted this 21 st day of July 2008. <br />Q 2, — V1 w <br />Jerry M.
