At this time, Chair Dalrymple opened the public hearing for comments. <br />The following people spoke in favor of the proposed zoning map amendment: <br />- Van Gross, 105 Boss Wood Court, Cary, NC <br />The following people spoke against the zoning map amendment: <br />- Christine Ammons, 1973 Ammons Farm Road, Sanford, NC <br />- Frederick Sloan, 3429 Farrell Road, Sanford, NC <br />Chair Dalrymple closed the public hearing. <br />IV. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Pursuant to General Statute § 152A-52.1, Chair Dalrymple opened the floor for Public <br />Comments. No one spoke during the public comments section of the meeting. <br />V. PRESENTATION OF RESOLUTIONS OF APPRECIATION — Removed <br />VI. OLD BUSINESS <br />A. Adoption of the 2019 Schedule of Values and Present use Value Schedule <br />In accordance with NCGS 105-317(c), the 2019 Schedule of Values and Present Use <br />Schedule was presented to the BOC on October 15, 2018 and a public hearing was held by the <br />Board on November 5, 2018. The next step is the adoption of the schedules followed by the <br />publication in a local newspaper stating that the schedules have been adopted and anyone who <br />takes exception to the schedules may file an appeal to the Property Tax Commissioner no later <br />than December 20, 2018. Commissioner Reives moved to adopt the proposed 2019 Schedule of <br />Values and Present Use Schedule as presented. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Dodson, Oldham, Reives, Sharpe, Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Knecht <br />Chair Dalrymple ruled the motion had carried unanimously. <br />B. Request for approval of Parks and Recreation Master Plan Phase I Recommendations with <br />modifications <br />Phase 1 Recommendations for the Parks and Recreations Masterplan were presented to <br />the Board at the November 5, 2018 Board of Commissioners meeting. Based on comments <br />received during the meeting, some modifications were made to the Phase 1 <br />Recommendations. Horton Park will focus on existing elements in the park such as the ball <br />field, playground, parking, and basketball court. The splash pad and walking trail will be <br />removed from Phase 1 Plans. O.T. Sloan Park tennis courts will be designed for multi -use with <br />basketball standards which would extend over the fence. These would be half court play areas. <br />Page 317 <br />
