LEE OUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Parks and Recreation (LCPR) 8 -and -under (8U) All -Stars Youth Baseball Team <br />exhibited hard work, dedication, sportsmanship, talent and exceptional team chemistry in the State <br />Wide Athletic Committee (SWAC) 8U State Tournament; and, <br />WHEREAS, the 8U All -Stars won the 2018 State Wide Athletic Committee (SWAC) 8U State <br />Championship in Aberdeen, NC with wins over Fuquay, Sandhills, and Onslow County; and, <br />WHEREAS, under the leadership and guidance of Head Coach Bill Shuey and Assistant Coaches Darrell <br />Kelly, Fred Lawson, and Michael Lugo, the team was able to go undefeated with victories over Fuquay <br />and Sandhills in the first two games, then beating Onslow twice, to advance to the championship game <br />and to win the championship game; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners recognizes the LCPR 8U All -Stars Youth Baseball <br />Team members Troy Lugo, Wyatt McAllister, Ryker Rochelle, Ethan Almanzar, Mason Cline, Mason <br />Hayes, Cayden Jennings, Elijah Kelly, Xavier Kelly, Tykerion Shepard, Brayden Shuey, and Seth Stringfield <br />for the accomplishments they demonstrated over the past several months and for their commitment, <br />perseverance and love of the sport of baseball; and, <br />WHEREAS, the 8u team represented Lee County admirably in the 2018 SWAC State Tournament in <br />Aberdeen, NC to close out a remarkable 2018 baseball season. <br />Dated this tF S;"1Jay of October, 2018 <br />Amy M.
