G39 REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS The County of Lee is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide a complete turnkey service for the collection of household hazardous waste (HHW). The one -day event will take place on October 8, 2011 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM and will provide for the collection of HHW generated by residents of Lee County. It will be held at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center located at 1801 Nash Street, Sanford. NC. The successful proposer will be expected to use safe and efficient procedures to collect, sort, package, transport, recycle, treat and dispose of the waste collected, according to the requirements contained herein. Sealed proposals will be received by the County of Lee, North Carolina, at the Lee County Finance Office, Attn: Purchasing Agent, PO Box 1968, 106 Hillerest Drive, Sanford, NC 27331 -1968 until 3:30 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST) on August 3, 2011 at which time they will be publicly opened and read. Any proposals received later than the specified time will not be accepted /considered. The proposal must be signed by an official authorized to bind the Contractor /Proposer and must be clearly marked "4712 -01 PROPOSAL FOR HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE PROGRAM." The County of Lee assumes no responsibility for unmarked or incorrectly marked proposals. This solicitation does not commit the County of Lee to award a contract, to pay any costs incurred in the preparation of proposal, or to procure or contract for services. The County of Lee reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals and to advertise anew, or to award a contract for part or portions thereof as in its judgment it shall deem to be in the best interest of the County.
