U 3 <br />NOTICE TO BIDDERS <br />The County of Lee is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide a complete turnkey <br />service for the collection of household hazardous waste (HHW). The one -day event will take <br />place on October 8, 2011 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM and will provide for the collection of <br />HHW generated by residents of Lee County. It will be held at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic <br />Center located at 1801 Nash Street, Sanford, NC. The successful proposer will be expected to <br />use safe and efficient procedures to collect, sort, package, transport, recycle, treat and dispose of <br />the waste collected, according to the requirements contained herein. <br />Sealed proposals will be received by the County of Lee, North Carolina, at the Lee County <br />Finance Office, Attn: Purchasing Agent, PO Box 1968, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, NC 27331- <br />1968 until 3:30 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST) on August 3, 2011 at which time they will be <br />publicly opened and read. Any proposals received later than the specified time will not be <br />accepted /considered. The proposal must be signed by an official authorized to bind the <br />Contractor /Proposer and must be clearly marked "4712 -01 PROPOSAL FOR HOUSEHOLD <br />HAZARDOUS WASTE PROGRAM." The County of Lee assumes no responsibility for <br />unmarked or incorrectly marked proposals. <br />Proposal documents for the above project may be obtained from Lee County General Services, <br />805 South Fifth St., Sanford, NC 27330; by phone at 919 -718 -4622; or by email to: <br />joseph.cherry @leecountync.gov, during normal operating hours of 7AM and 4PM, Monday <br />through Friday; or at Lee County website at www.leecountync.gov. <br />This solicitation does not commit the County of Lee to award a contract, to pay any costs <br />incurred in the preparation of proposal, or to procure or contract for services.
