General Statute 153A -52.1, Chairman Shook opened the floor for Public <br />Comments. The following signed up to speak and were allowed 3 minutes for comments: <br />1. Mr. Frank Del Palazzo, 425 Rolling Hill Road, Sanford <br />The Board considered an appointment to the Central Carolina Community College 20/20 Civic <br />Center Committee. At the June 6` meeting, Mr. Ed Garrison, President of the CCCC Board of Trustees <br />asked Commissioners to appoint a sitting commissioner, along with the County Manager, to study <br />future plans for the next twenty years for the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center, along with representatives <br />from the community college and local business leaders. Chairman Shook had asked Commissioners to <br />contact her if they were interested in serving on said committee. Commissioner Parks moved to <br />appoint Commissioner Robert Reives to serve on the 20120 Civic Center Committee. Upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hayes, Oldham, Parks, Paschal, Reives, Shook, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered alternate redistricting plans as a result of the recent census. Deputy <br />Attorney Dale Talbert updated the Board on state and federal requirements for "redistricting" (redrawing <br />of electoral boundaries for elected offices) Commissioner Districts after the 2010 census. The existing <br />districts must be redrawn because, based upon the 2010 census data, retaining them as drawn would <br />result in deviation of more than 10% in population among certain districts and would violate the 'one — <br />
