6. Duties. City shall provide fire suppression/protection and rescue services to the residents of the Clearwater Forest Fire Protection and Rescue Service District. The City shall not provide EMS or transport (ambulance) services. Upon dispatch, the City shall respond to calls for fire, rescue and motor vehicle accident calls and render assistance. 7. Standards. City shall fumish fire suppression /protection and rescue services to the Clearwater Fire Protection and Rescue Service District in a professional, efficient and workmanlike manner, in accordance with minimum standards set forth by the North Carolina Department of Insurance, Fire and Rescue Division. 8. Jurisdiction. While performing services outside the City within the service district, employees of the Sanford Fire Department have the same jurisdiction, authority, rights, privileges, and immunities as they enjoy within the City limits. 9. Hazardous Materials Response. The City will coordinate Hazardous Material response with any other necessary responders and any costs associated with hazardous response will be borne by the property owner and /or person responsible for the release, in accordance with Sanford City Code Section 18 -93. 10. Fire Marshal. The County Fire Marshal shall respond to calls for fire marshal service in the service district upon request of the Sanford Fire Department at no additional charge. 11. Termination. If City desires to terminate this contract and the provision of services to the Clearwater Fire Protection and Rescue Service District, written notice of termination shall be forwarded to the County manager sixty (60) days before the end of the term. Notice of termination or not to renew the contract with the City shall be given by the County to the City Manager by written notice sixty (60) days before the end of the term. IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the City has caused this instrument to be signed in its corporate name by its Mayor and attested by its City Clerk, and sealed with its Municipal seal, all by authority of its City Council, first duly given, and the County has caused this instrument to be signed in its corporate name by the Chairman of its Board of Commissioners and attested by the Clerk to the Board, and sealed with the County seal, all by authority of its Board of Commissioners first duly given and effective as of the day and year first above written.
