6. Duties. City shall provide fire suppression/protection and rescue services to the <br />residents of the Clearwater Forest Fire Protection and Rescue Service District. The <br />City shall not provide EMS or transport (ambulance) services. Upon dispatch, the <br />City shall respond to calls for fire, rescue and motor vehicle accident calls and render <br />assistance. <br />7. Standards. City shall fumish fire suppression /protection and rescue services to the <br />Clearwater Fire Protection and Rescue Service District in a professional, efficient and <br />workmanlike manner, in accordance with minimum standards set forth by the North <br />Carolina Department of Insurance, Fire and Rescue Division. <br />8. Jurisdiction. While performing services outside the City within the service district, <br />employees of the Sanford Fire Department have the same jurisdiction, authority, <br />rights, privileges, and immunities as they enjoy within the City limits. <br />9. Hazardous Materials Response. The City will coordinate Hazardous Material <br />response with any other necessary responders and any costs associated with <br />hazardous response will be borne by the property owner and /or person responsible for <br />the release, in accordance with Sanford City Code Section 18 -93. <br />10. Fire Marshal. The County Fire Marshal shall respond to calls for fire marshal <br />service in the service district upon request of the Sanford Fire Department at no <br />additional charge. <br />11. Termination. If City desires to terminate this contract and the provision of services <br />to the Clearwater Fire Protection and Rescue Service District, written notice of <br />termination shall be forwarded to the County manager sixty (60) days before the end <br />of the term. Notice of termination or not to renew the contract with the City shall be <br />given by the County to the City Manager by written notice sixty (60) days before the <br />end of the term. <br />IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the City has caused this instrument to be signed in its <br />corporate name by its Mayor and attested by its City Clerk, and sealed with its Municipal seal, <br />all by authority of its City Council, first duly given, and the County has caused this instrument to <br />be signed in its corporate name by the Chairman of its Board of Commissioners and attested by <br />the Clerk to the Board, and sealed with the County seal, all by authority of its Board of <br />Commissioners first duly given and effective as of the day and year first above written. <br />City of Sanford <br />Cornelia P.
