NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />JUNE 13, 2011 <br />The budget work session of the Lee County Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, <br />State of North Carolina, convened at 10 a.m. in the Gordon Wicker Conference Room, First Floor, Lee <br />County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. Commissioners <br />present were Richard B. Hayes, Larry "Doc' Oldham, Charles T. Parks, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. <br />Reives, Linda A. Shook, and James K. Womack, Jr. Staff present included County Manager John <br />Crumpton, Assistant County Manager /Finance Director Lisa Minter, County Attorney K. R. Hoyle, and <br />Clerk to the Board Gaynell M. Lee. <br />Chairman Shook called the budget work session to order. <br />The Board discussed budget issues that were debated during the past several budget work <br />sessions when Board members met with department heads and non - profit organizations. <br />Commissioner Womack moved to add the Tax Office Listing position back in the budget and <br />forego the purchase of a new vehicle in place of the position if the County Manager feels the need to <br />omit the purchase at this time. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hayes, Oldham, Parks, Paschal, Reives, Shook, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Reives moved to accept the County Manager's recommendations on the <br />following items: <br />• Add back operations of the Broadway Library, <br />• Add back the Health Promotion position cut by the State <br />in the Health Department, <br />• Add back the Grounds position in General Services and <br />reduce the new vehicle purchase and other expenditures, and <br />• Add back temporary salaries to Senior Services allowing the <br />facility to stay open on Monday and Wednesday nights <br />and provide kitchen services now being provided by a grant <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />
