Crompton <br />April 23, 2008 <br />Page 6 of I I <br />U.S., including wetlands, to be impacted, Section 404 permitting <br />requirements can range from activities that are considered exempt or <br />preauthorized, to those requiring pre-construction notification (PCN) for <br />a Nationwide Permit (NWP) or requiring a Section 404 Individual Permit <br />(IP) from the USACE. Wetlands permitting requirements are generally <br />based on the acreage and/or linear footage of impact. <br />Activities conducted under the Nationwide Permit program must comply <br />with the USACE NWP General and Regional Conditions and with <br />NCDENR DWQ General Conditions. Permitting under Section 404 and <br />401 of the Clean Water Act may require coordination with interested <br />agencies including, but not limited to, the USACE, the DWQ, the North <br />Carolina Department of Cultural Resources (NCDCIZ), the U.S. Fish and <br />Wildlife Service (USFWS), the North Carolina Wildlife Resources <br />Commission (NCWRC) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency <br />(USEPA). <br />B. PHASE 2 - DESIGN AND PERMITTING <br />This phase includes performing design and permitting services required for the <br />is modifications and repairs to the existing dam and spillway in accordance with <br />regulatory requirements outlined in North Carolina Administrative Code, Title <br />15A, and Subchapter 2K-Dam Safety and the additional regulatory agencies <br />previously mentioned. <br />The final design will include detailed construction drawings (including <br />structural plans), technical specifications, and preparation of a final report as <br />discussed below. <br />Final plan preparation will include preparation of 24" x 36" plan and profile <br />sheets at a scale of 1" = 50' or greater. All fieldwork will be transferred to the <br />plan and/or plan-profile sheets in digital AutoCAD 2005 format or later. In <br />summary the detailed plan package will include as a minimum the following: <br />• Cover Sheet <br />• Site Plan at 1" =50' scale (minimum) depicting the proposed structure, <br />existing and proposed grades <br />• Plan and Profile of the dam site <br />• Erosion Control Plans <br />• Structural Plans, Elevations, and Details <br />• Construction detail sheets that presents all structures, pipe trench, <br />erosion control details, and related construction notes as a minimum <br />$a <br />
