008 <br />EE COUNTY <br />Ttk~.. ~ S 1. <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomoror <br />JOINT MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS AND MEMBERS <br />OF THE <br />CENTRAL CAROLINA COMMUNITY COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES <br />APRIL 28, 2008 <br />The joint meeting of the Board of Commissioners and members of the Central <br />Carolina Community College Board of Trustees convened at 5:00 p.m. in Room 9105 of <br />the Science Building located on the campus of Central Carolina Community College, Kelly <br />Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were Robert H. Brown, James C. <br />Kelly, Jerry M. Lemmond, Nathan E. Paschal, John T. Quiggle, and Linda A. Shook. <br />Commissioner Robert T. Reives was absent. Others present for the meeting included <br />County Manager John Crumpton, County Attorney K. R. Hoyle, and Clerk to the Board <br />® Gaynell Lee. <br />Mr. Bobby Powell, Chairman of the CCCC Board of Trustees called the meeting to <br />order and welcomed everyone. <br />CCCC President Dr. Matt Garrett gave an update and status report of needs of the <br />community college, how county funds are spent, status of college facilities and <br />maintenance, status of security and safety at CCCC, and shared a comparison of how <br />CCCC measures up with surrounding community colleges. Dr. Garrett also discussed the <br />future of the Jonesboro Center, a need for more medical provides (nurses, aids, etc.), Lee <br />Early College, the CCCC facilities master plan, and their budget request for FY 2008-09. <br />No action was taken. <br />The meeting adjourned at 6:25 p.m. <br />0 Gaynell M.
