XX Information -Action Item - Consent Agenda SUBJECT: March 2008 Financial Report DEPARTMENT: Finance CONTACT PERSON: Lisa G. Minter, Finance Director REQUEST: N/A - Information only SUMMARY: Attached is the monthly financial report for March 2008. Please remember that sales tax revenues run three months behind. Unrestricted intergovernmental revenues are over budget due to the receipt of the hold harmless funds related to Medicaid relief. A budget amendment will be brought to the Board in May or June to appropriate part of these funds for the schools ADM money loss. Sales and services are running below budget at this time. Much of this can be attributed to a decline in Environmental Health permits and in a decrease in revenues for other Health Department services. In reviewing expenditures, the percentage used target is 75%. A few departments are exceeding the target as of the end of March. Mr. Crumpton and I will be reviewing the budgets of those departments to see what actions need to be taken. Juvenile Detention is over budget. This is what the County is charged for Lee County juvenile's that are placed in a detention center. We cannot control this cost. A budget amendment will be prepared to add money to this line item. Due to the largest part of our revenues being received in December and January, expenditures exceed revenues for the month of March 2008; however, for the year to date, revenues exceed expenditures by $4,230,578.78. Also, the sales tax distribution reports are attached showing collections received in April.
