Information, Meeting Date: February 18, 2008 Action Item XX Consent Agenda SUBJECT: Budget Amendment #02/18/08/16 DEPARTMENT: Finance CONTACT PERSON: Lisa G. Minter, Finance Director REQUEST: Approval of Budget Amendment #02/18/08/16 SUMMARY: Budget Amendment #02/18/08/16 appropriates funds for the following departments: Health Department - The North Carolina Division of Public Health is providing the County $17,500 for emergency preparedness related to Pandemic Influenza. The Healthy Carolinians department has received funding of $12,048 to maintain and enhance necessary infrastructure to reduce rates of diabetes, cancer, heart disease, obesity, injury and infant mortality. The Health Department is receiving an $833 additional allocation of funding for Family Planning Social Services - Social Services has received an additional crisis intervention allocation of $21,155. No County funds are needed for this allocation- These funds are used to provide assistance to families that are in a heating or cooling crisis. Sheriff - The Lee County Sheriffs Office has received a donation check from Tracy Mayhew in the amount of $1000 to go towards the purchase of one AR15 rifle- The rifle costs $775, remaining funds will be used for ammunition for the rifle. Drug Seizure Funds - The Lee County Sheriffs Office has received $30,258 in drug seizure funds and have asked that the funds be appropriated to purchase a Polygraph, Tactical Vest, a GPS Web vehicle tracking system, and a rifle.
