COUNTY <br />5 <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow r t <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE ` <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS',.: <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />DECEMBER 3, 2007 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North <br />Carolina, convened at 900 a.m. in the Commissioners' Room, First Floor, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. Commissioners <br />present were Robert H. Brown, James C. Kelly, Jerry M. Lemmond, Nathan E- Paschal, Robert T. <br />Reives, and Linda A. Shook. Commissioner Kirk D. Smith had been excused to attend an out-of- <br />state meeting. <br />18 Chairman Brown called the meeting to order and the following business was transacted: <br />Commissioner Kelly delivered the invocation. <br />The pledge of allegiance was recited. <br />At this time, County Attorney K. R. Hoyle presided over the meeting for the election of a <br />Chairman and Vice-Chairman. Mr. Hoyle told the Board the first order of business was the <br />election of a Chairman for a one-year term. The Board agreed to vote by using signed ballots. <br />Ballots were distributed and tabulated with the following votes recorded: <br />COMMISSIONER VOTED FOR <br />Brown <br />Brown <br />Kelly <br />Brown <br />Lemmond <br />Brown <br />Paschal <br />Brown <br />Reives <br />Brown <br />Shook <br />Brown <br />Smith (absent) <br />N/A <br />Mr. Hoyle announced that Commissioner Robert H- Brown had been elected Chairman for the <br />coming year by a unanimous vote. <br />® Mr. Hoyle called for the election of a Vice-Chairman for a one-year term. Ballots were <br />distributed and tabulated with the following votes recorded' <br />
