FESTOON LIGHTING <br />A string of outdoor lights suspended between two or more points. <br />FLAG <br />A sign consisting of a single piece of fabric that is attached on one or two sides to one or more <br />poles or other fixed structures so that the fabric can be blown by the wind. <br />FLASHING OR INTERMITTENT SIGNS <br />Signs with one or more lights that flash, move, revolve, rotate, scintillate, blink, flicker, vary <br />in intensity or color, or use intermittent electrical pulsation. <br />FREESTANDING SIGN <br />A sign that is not attached to a building and is permanently attached to the ground by one or <br />more supports. <br />GROUND SIGN <br />A free-standing sign with its base or its supports mounted directly to the ground. A ground <br />sign shall include a single support structure which may include (a) double -sign faces mounted <br />back-to-back such that each sign face cannot be view from the same vantage point or (b) a <br />single -faced sign. <br />INCIDENTAL SIGN <br />A sign not exceeding three (3) square feet in area and three (3) feet in height and that only: (i) <br />provides information to assist with direction or safety with respect to the premises on which it <br />is located, such as signs that state "entrance," "exit," "one way," "telephone," "parking," "no <br />parking," and similar instructions, or (ii) displays information pertinent to the immediate <br />safety or legal responsibilities of passersby or the public, such as signs warning of high <br />voltage and "no trespassing" signs. <br />ILLUMINATION, INDIRECT <br />Illumination which reflects light from an artificial light source intentionally directed upon a <br />surface. This shall also include silhouettes of letters or symbols placed before a background of <br />reflected light. <br />INFLATABLE SIGNS <br />A three-dimensional object, filled with air or gas, and located in such a manner as to attract <br />attention. <br />MARQUEE <br />20 <br />
