LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />106 HILLCREST DRIVE <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />JUNE 18, 2018 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of <br />North Carolina, convened at 6:00 P.M. in the Commissioners Room, First Floor, Lee <br />County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. <br />Commissioners present when the meeting was called to order were Amy M. Dalrymple, <br />Kevin C. Dodson, Dr. Andre Knecht, Larry "Doc" Oldham, Robert T. Reives, Cameron W. <br />Sharpe, and Timothy S. Sloan. Staff in attendance included County Manager John <br />Crumpton, County Attorney Whitney Parrish, Assistant County Manager/Finance Director <br />Lisa Minter, Emergency Services Director Shane Seagroves, Social Services Director <br />Angelina Noel, Solid Waste Superintendent Joseph Cherry and Deputy County <br />Attorney/Clerk to the Board Jennifer Gamble <br />Ms. Kinsley Raye Johns from the Lee County Young Commissioners Program <br />called the meeting to order. <br />Ms. Danna Lagunas from the Lee County Young Commissioners Program delivered <br />the invocation. <br />Ms. Trinity Patterson from the Lee County Young Commissioners Program led the <br />group in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />A group picture of the Young Commissioners and the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners was taken at this time. <br />Chair Dalrymple resumed the Chair duties at this time and the meeting continued. <br />I. INTRODUCTION OF THE 2017 LEE COUNTY "YOUNG COMMISSIONERS" <br />LEADERSHIP PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS <br />Mikayla Comer introduced the class taking part in the 4-H Young Commissioners <br />Program. In order to be a part of the Young Commissioners, an individual must submit an <br />application, write an essay, and undergo an interview process. Only 12 applicants are <br />accepted into the program annually. The program promotes leadership, public speaking, <br />Page 118 <br />
