K <br />Information <br />Meeting Date: October 1, 2007 _ Action Item <br />XX Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: Contract Agreement between Fleming Transportation and the <br />County of Lee for COLTS <br />DEPARTMENT: Lee County Senior Services <br />CONTACT PERSON: Debbie Davidson, Senior Services Director <br />REQUEST: To Sub-Contract Transportation Services with Fleming <br />Transportation <br />SUMMARY: COLTS has received Rural Operating Assistance Program grant <br />funding through the North Carolina Department of Transportation for <br />Employment, Elderly and Disabled and General Public <br />Transportation services. Often a client needs transportation after <br />hours and on weekends when COLTS is not in operation. There <br />may also be incidents that a client needs service early or late in the <br />day in an area where a COLTS driver is not readily available. <br />Fleming Transportation can fill these additional transportation needs <br />and has agreed to provide services for COLTS and adhere to the <br />guidelines of NC DOT for drug testing and other requirements <br />BUDGET IMPACT: N/A - Funding has been authorized and approved by NC DOT and <br />is included in current FY 07/08 budget. <br />ATTACHMENT(S): Contract Agreement <br />PUBLIC HEARING: No <br />PRIOR BOARD ACTION: Approved Rural Operating Assistance Program Grant July 23, 2007. <br />The application included plans to sub-contract with local cab <br />company to provide additional transportation services. <br />0 RECOMMENDATION: Approve Contract Agreement as presented. <br />
