A. _ Information X Action Item Meeting Date: September 10, 2007 _ Consent Agenda SUBJECT: Lee County Industrial Park DEPARTMENT: Economic Development CONTACT PERSON: John Crumpton, County Manager Bob Heuts, Economic Development Director REQUEST: Appropriation of $6,750 for study/engineering to begin process of bringing the Industrial Park into compliance with Federal permit. SUMMARY: The FY 2008-2012 Capital Improvements Program included a request totaling $2,013,390 for additional work at the Lee County Industrial Park. Funds were requested to resolve compliance issues with Corps of Engineers, to pave the road, to add water lines, and to add gravity flow lines for sewage. Funds would also cover a wetlands survey. In July, Mr. Heuts requested funding to accept a proposal from ECS Carolinas, LLP to develop a more cost effective preliminary plan for compliance with US Army Corps of Engineers. The Board removed the request from the agenda and asked that the matter be reviewed by the Finance Committee. Additional information was requested regarding the land owners in the Industrial Park and any outstanding purchase options. That information is attached. RECOMMENDATION: Approve $6,750 for study/engineering to begin process of getting into compliance with Federal permit.
