A. <br />_ Information <br />X Action Item <br />Meeting Date: September 10, 2007 _ Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: Lee County Industrial Park <br />DEPARTMENT: Economic Development <br />CONTACT PERSON: John Crumpton, County Manager <br />Bob Heuts, Economic Development Director <br />REQUEST: Appropriation of $6,750 for study/engineering to begin process of bringing <br />the Industrial Park into compliance with Federal permit. <br />SUMMARY: The FY 2008-2012 Capital Improvements Program included a request <br />totaling $2,013,390 for additional work at the Lee County Industrial Park. <br />Funds were requested to resolve compliance issues with Corps of <br />Engineers, to pave the road, to add water lines, and to add gravity flow <br />lines for sewage. Funds would also cover a wetlands survey. In July, Mr. <br />Heuts requested funding to accept a proposal from ECS Carolinas, LLP to <br />develop a more cost effective preliminary plan for compliance with US <br />Army Corps of Engineers. That information is <br />attached. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve $6,750 for study/engineering to begin process of getting into <br />compliance with Federal permit. <br />
